Americas Cup Avenue Photos

We have recently joined the RIDOT Adopt-a-Highway program. We have adopted the area from Van Zandt Avenue to Bridge Street. It is our responsibility to pick up the trash four times a year. Here are some photos of our area of concern.

Heading North into the Curve
One of the problems in this area is the number of North bound cars that go into curve at too fast a rate of speed. Many of the operators are very surprised to find traffic stopped at the light. This causes many screeching brakes. The 'curve' signs that were blocked by the trees on the East side of the road could have been a factor.
On September 16, 2003, Rick Santos and the local RIDOT crew came here and cut back the trees. You can see the difference in these photos. We might still need to add another sign on the West side of the road.
