Death Notice: Tuesday, February, 9, 1954 Miss Theresa V. Cleary, 45, a former housekeeper, was found dead in the bedrooom of her home, 30 Edward Street, early Monday evening. She as found lying across her bed by Robert S. Eggleston, a lodger who was calling her for supper. The fire department rescue crew and Dr. Frank J. Logler medical examiner, were called but Miss Cleary was dead on their arrival. Dr. Logler pronounced death due to natural causes and gave permission for removal of the body to the O'Neill Funeral Home. Miss Cleary was born in Newport, a daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Martin Cleary. She leaves three sisters, Miss Anna W. Cleary, Mrs Charles D. Toracinta of Newport and Mrs. Harold Lawton of California, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held from the O'Neill Funeral Home Thursday morning to St. Joseph's Church for a mass of requiem. Burial will be in St. Columbia's Cemetery. | ||
Obituary: The funeral of John P. Martin took place this morning from his late residence on Lee Avenue to St. Mary's Church, where Rev. Father Gibbons celebrated a fumeral mass of requiem. There was a large attendance, including many of the street department men, the deceased having been an employee there for many years. The internment was in St. Columba's cemetery, the bearers being Michael F. Murray, John, E. Murray, Robert J. Lawton, Frank H. Lawton and John J. Cosgrove, all cousins, and Patrick H. Cleary, a brother-in-law. | ||
