R. I. Irish Famine Memorial Committee will be conducting a celebration at theit memorial site in Providence.

There will be a dedication of a granite flagstone in memory of John Gordon at a ceremony on Sunday, afternoon, October 9, 2011, to be held at the Rhode Island Irish Famine Memorial at 2:30 PM.

Following that ceremony, there will be a 'fund raiser' at O'Rourke's Bar & Grille in Pawtuxet. The Irish band, Garda, will be performing at both places.
